Occupy spaces that contribute to the safety of our people - HOD Morule .

Community Safety and Transport Management, Acting Head of Department Molefi Morule has encouraged women not to hold back and to brazenly participate in different formations within their communities. Speaking at the departmental women’s month event in Mahikeng recently, he said the celebration of women should be far more meaningful than just dedicating a day to them.

“August as a month of celebrating women is more than what many think it is. The history of it signifies women standing up to make positive changes for themselves and those around them.

“As we come from different localities let us inspire the constitutional mandate of this department.  Participate in community structures that are geared towards ensuring that all the people in North West Province feel safe and secured,” he said while addressing the event.

Historically gender roles were made up in a way that disadvantaged women. However, their courage and ability to lead has since come to the fold.

“Much as we are here to celebrate we also need to reflect because you are all leaders in your own right.

“Your future was determined by the those who came before you. Therefore it is now your responsibility to ensure that the future of those who will come after you is an even better one,” added Morule.

Women employees of the department attending the event in full capacity and the day was well spend.
